We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsSeasonal Program Requirements – Seasonal PRN Status with a Full-Time Schedule – Program Runs 8/25/24-4/5/25All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal periodWithin a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing needFour (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule periodDuring the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off.
There are no guaranteed hours by the hospitalSeasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policySeasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluationCurrent FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2024-2025 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous yearCurrent employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal programShifts may vary based on the needs of the departmentWhat you will do in this role:You will quickly access and prioritize incoming patientsYou will perform comprehensive nursing assessments and stabilize patientsYou will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN's scope of practice and in accordance with established policiesYou will provide patient education / follow-up care instructions and make necessary referralsWhat qualifications you will need:Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (ASN) from Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
Compact license is accepted.
BSN required Current BLS- Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross is requiredMinimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting, one year ED experience requiredCEN and/or CPEN preferredPALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateTrauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start dateTNCC/ENPC required within 18 monthsNonviolent Crisis Intervention, or Satori Alternatives Manag Aggr must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date Medical City Dallas is recognized for its advanced medical facilities and commitment to excellence in patient care.
