QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required (minimum). Must possess strong math and grammar skills. Must exhibit good telephone etiquette, customer service and professional judgment. Notary Public or willingness to become a notary. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Synergy, Google and/or a willingness to be trained in programs, as needed. Able to compose written text using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Understands importance of accuracy in work. Maintains confidentiality regarding students and staff. Must be neat, well groomed and professional in appearance. Must be dependable and have excellent attendance. Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences both verbally and in writing. Is able to get along well with a wide variety of people and work as a team player. Shows initiative in organizing and accomplishing office work priorities. Exhibits emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirements of the position. Certified or willing to become certified in basic first aid/CPR/AED. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs usual office routines. Updates and maintains student records (primarily attendance, residency and medical records). Creates and processes attendance communications. Participates as a member of the building's Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT).
Tracks and records medical forms annually. Receives incoming calls and takes accurate messages/recordkeeping. Greets parents and visitors in a positive manner and provides guidance for their requests. Handles situations that arise in a calm and professional manner and keeps administrators informed. Helps coordinate major high school functions, programs, and assemblies. Helps coordinate necessary building mailings/correspondence. Trains and supervises Attendance Office Co-Op student. Follows all district and building protocols. Provides clerical support for security personnel. Works closely with pupil accounting secretary. Facilitates homework requests. Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance. Other duties as assigned. SALARY: Per the DESA Master Agreement, Level 2, $15.56 - $19.15 per hour, commensurate with experience
