Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary

Summary:
The General Secretary provides secretarial support to the nursing office and the Department of Nursing.


Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Education Required
•Must complete in-house orientation program
•Ability to read and write well enough to draft, edit, type and proofread correspondence, reports, forms, etc., at a level normally acquired through a high school education.

•Excellent typing/computer skills in order to complete typing assignments quickly and accurately.


Experience And Skills
•Speaks, reads and writes English
•One year secretarial experience.

•Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

•Written and oral communication skills, telephone skills, organizational abilities.

•Ability to operate following equipment:
•Computer
•Computer: Outlook; Word, Excel
•Photocopy machine
•Telephone.

•Fax machine
•Standard office equipment

License/Certifications
• Working Conditions

•Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
•Requires frequent verbal communication using telephone.

•Manual dexterity.

•Standing, sitting, bending and lifting.

•Mental Demands:
•Work requires accuracy and meeting deadlines.

•Must be able to work with frequent telephone or in-person interruptions.
