To ensure the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) IT projects and processes are designed to be more user-centric, and it understand the people for whom the agency is creating programs and services, it has awarded Rainmakers a multi-year project to help support initiatives related to human centered design (HCD) and 508 compliance. Job Duties:Perform 508 remediationSupport the CMS Section 508 team with development of HCD artifacts to include rapid prototype wireframes, user stories/personas, and kanbansOffer SME in Section 508 requirements and implementation, and accessibility.Develop and implement Section 508 related instructor-led and self-paced e-learning trainings, videos, Standard Operating Procedures, and marketing materials Provide support to web content development and outreach activitiesConduct manual and automated testing of web applications to evaluate accessibility in accordance with Section 508 standards, WCAG 2.0/2.1, and other accessibility laws/regulationsReview and analyze web application code, UI/UX design, and content to identify accessibility issuesDocument, track, and report accessibility issues, providing clear steps for reproducing problems and recommendations for resolutionSuggest improvements to the agency's Section 508 processes and proceduresCoordinate HCD best practices with HDC consultants, with a focus on the 508 perspective Take notes at 508 committee meetings, to ensure accuracy of 508 technical content discussion, support direction to its sub-group meetings, and track 508 issues and resolutionsPerform tasks in an agile environment, working closely with the client on a routine basisParticipate in daily team scrums and client meetings/calls as requiredPerform other duties as assignedEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Assistive Technology, Educational Technology or related field. Years of Experience:Minimum of 8 years of professional experience with accessibility and Section 508 complianceMinimum of 5 years' experience contracting with government agencies, (ideally with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Accessibility packages, such as, but not required to have all, Adobe Acrobat, PAC3, WAVE toolbar, JAWS, NVDA, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Read&Write, ABBYY finreader, TextAloud, and other assistive technologies.
