The Section Manager is an integral resource to our Power Substation Engineering Manager (and supporting team) as you lead programs and a team of engineers and designers on Milhouse projects specific to our Midwest Utility clients.
On a day-to-day basis you will manage the engineering process from project award through as-built submittal. You will be accountable for the success of a team of engineers and designers as you lead them on unique and challenging substation projects. You also work on complex designs and project engineering for substation projects among our utility clients. You support the development of and lead a team that performs protective system designs, physical layout designs, and calculations, as well as oversee and coordinate with other disciplines on substation projects.
\n What you will do:Coordinate / communicate project status with client representative and othersLead and oversee execution of substation designs for client with regulatory requirements.Manage mid to large size projects and programsApply clients standards, guidelines, specifications, practices and procedures or appropriate industry standards in preparing design drawings as well as coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with all specifications, codes, and client requirementsRegularly communicate and coordinate project activities with internal team members and to build relationships with clientsLead teams in the design and delivery of green and brown field high voltage electrical substation projectDevelop team by driving recruitment with support from our Talent Team.Develop and maintain project documentation regarding protection and control design and constructionIn conjunction with Manager support the development of plans & sections, details, control building layouts, P&C one line diagram, AC/DC schematics, control panel layout and wiring diagram, station service AC/DC distribution diagram, bill of material, cable schedule, etc.Drive quality and keep Milhouse Engineering leadership advised of all qualityDrive schedule and budget adherence.Manage project subordinates and/or other project/discipline resources to quality, schedule and budget requirements.Support vendor drawing review and dispositionSupport data and document entry into various platformsReporting safety, health and quality issues to management.Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation.Assist management as directed.Ability to consistently work independently and present high quality of work.Advanced presentation, written, verbal communication skillsAbility to role up sleeves and support project execution as needed Your background:Four year technical degree from an ABET accredited institution.P.E. required. \n$145,000 - $160,000 a year
The actual base pay depends upon many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
