Job Overview: The Security & Surveillance Training Specialist assists the Manager of Investigative Operations in the planning, organization and implementation of department-wide security & surveillance task-oriented training.This role is responsible for the assessment, development, and execution of the training objectives, lesson plans, training materials and instruction of all Enterprise, security and surveillance training.

Job Duties: Completes new hire training classes for Security and Surveillance team members, including scheduling and overseeing the sessions.
Coordinates and monitors required regulatory training and testing, while also keeping track of attendance and test results.
Provides leadership and guidance for team members during their initial training.
Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of departmental training programs through performance monitoring and other evaluation techniques.
Makes adjustments to training programs as necessary.
At the direction of the Manager of Investigative Operations, researches, develops, technically writes, recommends, implements, and monitors department procedures and business processes.
Evaluates current procedures and best practices for effectiveness based on training results and revises or updates as necessary.
Coordinates, researches, and develops curricula for technical and soft skills training programs in the areas of Title 31, medical emergencies, emergency response procedures, de-escalation/diffusion strategies, use of force/subject control, personal defense tactics, and the use of less-lethal options for frontline team members, supervisors, and shift managers.
In conjunction with Learning and Development department, reviews and updates materials as necessary.
Coordinates in-person trainings for outside departments and/or develops and records curricula for computer-based training programs for team members.
Provide education and awareness to other GE departments on preventative training topics such as emergency response, alcohol compliance, human trafficking, etc.
Revises and updates computer based training programs as needed.
Partners with Talent Acquisition to interview candidates and make recommendations on hiring decisions.
Accounts for equipment inventory for assigned training materials and order required materials and equipment Develop train the trainer material for Security and Surveillance operations.
Provide training to field training Officers and Supervisors.
Evaluate effectiveness of training and making revisions or updates as needed.
Monitor department intern training program Coordinate and monitor progress reports and evaluations for team members.
Provides feedback to management on team member progress.
Maintain department training records Complete security tasks during special events Job Requirements:

Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job: 4+ years of experience working in loss prevention, security, or related field 2+ years of experience in a training position or another role that requires public speaking 2+ years or supervisory or management experience Proficiency working with Microsoft Office products Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong time management and organizational skills Valid Class D Driver's License with good driving record
