THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities and experience.
This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure a sound design, and seamless installation and commissioning of our security system solutions.
This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects.
Customer and employee interface require a high degree of effective human relations.
Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!
) Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales departments for a successful project execution.
Installing, programming, and commissioning of access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems.
Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
Responsible for programming, commissioning, and final acceptance by customers, engineering forms and end users.
Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
Responsible for programming systems via laptop computers.
Oversight for project inventory and responsible for vehicle inventory.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
Customer-focused; skilled in project and people management.
Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
Proficient in issue resolution.
Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
Knowledge of security industry.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the security industry.
Knowledge of current security systems including access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems.
Ability to program and commission mid-range to complex security systems.
Ability to read security system design drawings.

Hourly Rate: $45.00 per hour, can be higher depending on experience
