Job Purpose
The Self-Parking Attendant is responsible for monitoring the parking lot(s), as well as conducting operational duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Issue tickets for guests parking at specific parking lots.
Must be responsible for money collection and corresponding paperwork.
Only accepting money under direction of management
Complete log report showing arrivals and parking operation data.
Complete shift reports showing tickets issued and money received and any corresponding operational paperwork.
Must be responsible for parking administrative items, such as labeling key numbers and keys for cars parked in valet section of the parking lot and recording descriptions of vehicles as required.
Must maintain proper and timely inventory of vehicles in accordance with inventory standards.
Must ensure proper security on lot, including but not limited to issuing notices on cars with no parking permit, completing security checks during certain shifts or times of day, ensure vehicles are locked and are properly secured, as applicable.
Maintain cleanliness of lot and attendant booth, including basic housekeeping and janitorial duties.
Maintain vigilance in overseeing the security of the parking lots by noting and reporting any unsafe, suspicious or potentially dangerous situations in an effective and timely manner to the shift supervisor and/or account manager.
Provide customer assistance during payment for parking services, including handling cash payments when necessary.
Regular monitoring of all parking lots.
May be needed to park guest vehicles and retrieve valet parked guest vehicles in a timely and courteous manner; use claim tickets to ensure appropriate delivery of vehicle.
Move from door post to and from other areas throughout in response to guest needs.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hospitality Parking standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of business.
Comply at all times with Hospitality Parking standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient parking operations.
Employees must be at all times attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
Must have good knowledge of local area; provide information, maps, and directions as required.
Assist supervisor when needed in answering telephone, responding to all calls within three rings.
Be familiar with hospitality and parking terminology but do not use with guests at any time.
Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed.
Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
Attend any required meetings or training as required by management.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Licensing / Certifications
Must have a valid Texas driver's license and maintain a driving record that is in good standing and report any changes to driving record.
Regular driving record updates may be requested.
Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of high school diploma/equivalency or at least one year of progressive experience in a customer service, hospitality, or a related field required.
Must be able to resolve guest complaints and issues to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak in English.
Ability to operate a computer and software programs preferred.
Expected to maintain proper professional business attire appearance.
Expected to be cleanly groomed and maintain proper hygiene, per Hospitality Parking standards.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
Considerable knowledge of and ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions and business facilities and services.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
Ability to drive a stick-shift (manual) transmission vehicle, strongly desired
Working Conditions
Must be able to be regularly exposed to outside in all types of weather (excessive heat, rain, cold, wind, etc.)
conditions and frequently exposed to vehicle exhaust fumes.
Physical Requirements
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking.
Ability to use hands and fingers to drive vehicles as well as to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage with sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage up to 75 lbs.
Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and ability to adjust focus.
