Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (Journal Entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Financial Statement Variance Analysis) in compliance with GAAP. This position will also act as one of the central points of contacts for intercompany accounting, invoicing, and support. Alongside the guidance of the Assistant Controller and Accounting Team, this individual will assist in the standardization of the intercompany management and clearing process. The ideal candidate will have a creative mindset and a humble roll up your sleeves attitude. This candidate must have great communication skills and be open to learning from others to become the subject matter expert that iteratively improves the status quo. The ability to adjust and assist with ad hoc accounting and finance projects associated with existing portfolio companies and new acquisitions will be valuable.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for general accounting duties including the Month End Close Process, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Financial Statement Analysis to ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies, procedures, and controls.Preparing journal entries for accruals, adjustments, prepaids, leases, loans, fixed assets, internal and external technology costs, management fees, revenue recognition, and others for the Rebill Center and Portfolio Companies.Responsible for managing intercompany clearing and reconciliation, including maintaining relationships with and assisting accounting leads from other Portfolio Companies in the network.Perform financial analysis and generate conclusions and recommendations for ad hoc projects to identify areas of opportunity and recommend solutions.Developing Accounting / Finance staff and promote knowledge sharing with other departments to help standardize and improve workflows.Assist the team with processing invoices, expense reports, and other duties as needed.Qualifications:
3+ years of related financial analysis, audit, or accounting experience (prior experience in intercompany accounting is a plus).Big 4 or regional firm public accounting experience is preferred, but not required.Expertise in generally accepted accounting practices with CPA certification preferred, but not required.High emotional intelligence with the ability to build partnerships across departments and Portfolios.Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to be flexible and organized.Position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient with Microsoft Excel.QuickBooks, D365, and NetSuite experience preferred.Excellent organizational skills and ability to prepare work accurately and timely.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Career-oriented with interest in advancement.Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems.Teamwork oriented and conscientious work ethics.Education:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting required.Compensation:
Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, qualifications/certifications, experience level, and geographic location.The expected annualized base compensation range for this role in Los Angeles is $90k – $115k. Please note this range is an estimate and actual may vary based on qualifications and experience.
