Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for general accounting and tax responsibilities within the Family Office group.
This individual will be based out of the New York office.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting Prepare monthly bank and investment account reconciliations Manage the filing of various tax returns Responsible for day to day accounting and record keeping for multiple entities Assist in preparation of 1099 NEC & MISC Liaise with third-party advisors and institutions Review tax returns prepared by CPA firms to ensure accuracy Assist with accounts payable functions such as paying bills by check or wire transfers as needed Assist with collection of rental income monthly Assist with special projects and prepare ad hoc reporting requested as needed Compile and respond to various tax notices in a timely manner Prepare timely net worth statements, budgets and other accounting reports Maintain understanding of current and changing tax practices and law Track charitable contributions and gifts Compensation $110,000 - $140,000 / year Annual performance based bonus QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Taxation, CPA preferred Minimum of 7+ years of accounting and/or tax experience, family office and/or real estate industry preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and overall tax process; detailed knowledge of tax and estate planning as well as regulatory requirements Demonstrated ability to interact with senior executives and naturally adaptive to different audiences, diplomatically assertive Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and QuickBooks is a plus
