Full job description Marbridge currently has an opportunity to join our management team as a Senior Accountant here in Manchaca, TX (just south of Austin), where we provide long-term care for an extremely unique population of individuals primarily with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Senior Accountant position helps ensure compliance with internal financial requirements. The Sr. Accountant works closely with members of the development team to ensure donation accounting accuracy and maintain a fund ledger. This position also assists with various audits of financial accounts, prepares necessary reports, and other administrative activities.
Responsibilities: Fixed Asset Accounting Maintains the subsidiary ledger and roll forward schedule Maintains the Construction in Progress (CIP) schedule Records additions, disposals, and depreciation expense Reconciles at month-end Contribution Receivable (Pledges) and Allowance Maintains the subsidiary ledger for receivables and allowances Records additions, write-offs and payments Reconciles at month-end Donation Accounting Ensures donations are recorded properly Reconciles at month-end Prepares requests to transfer funds to/from accounts Distributes donation pivot table once reconciled Designated Funds Accounting and Releases Maintains tracking schedule of all designated gifts Reconciles at month-end Prepares requests to transfer/release funds as expenditures occur Other Duties Completes bank account reconciliations Processes banking transactions such as transfers, clearing checks, direct payments and other as needed in a timely manner Prepares and completes clearing account reconciliation Processes monthly allocation Distributes financial statements under supervision of the Director of Accounting Maintains the Chart of Accounts Assists with Annual Financial Audit Special Projects as needed Reports Officer and Board changes to the Secretary of the State Education, skills, and Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Minimum of 1 year of accounting or audit experience including general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Must be proficient in Excel and accounting software Must be able to multitask while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines Licenses/Certifications/Registration: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. However, equivalent experience qualifies. Equipment to be Used: Must be able to operate various office equipment including multi-line telephones, copiers, computers, and calculators.
Physical Requirements / Demands: Requires lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, frequent walking and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Working Conditions & Schedule: Hybrid position with both remote and office setting work environments. Exempt position with hours primarily following standard business hours M-F 8 am – 5 pm.
