Senior Accountant

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work directly with our clients and will work together with others at GVZ to provide exceptional client service.
GVZ is a locally owned public accounting firm with approximately 35 employees.
We specialize in working with small to mid-sized businesses and their owners on tax compliance and tax planning.
Our firm also offers payroll, sales tax, bookkeeping, and full-service accounting for our business clients.
We are looking for a tax senior associate to join us in our Hudson office and/or our New Richmond office.


Responsibilities:
•Preparation and/or review of income tax returns for businesses (mostly 1065/1120S) and individuals
•Perform tax research and document conclusions as necessary
•Provide proactive communication and timely service to our clients
•Stay up to date on tax laws and compliance requirements
•Organize tax workpapers in a paperless environment
•Prepare responses to tax notices and/or examinations
•Collect information from clients for preparation of tax returns, may include in-person or virtual meetings with clients
•Assist with tax planning and projection projects as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:
•3+ years of experience in public accounting
•CPA license or ability to obtain CPA license is preferred
•Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
•Experience with QuickBooks or other similar accounting software products is a plus
•Strong organizational skills and ability to proactively communicate with others
•Sense of initiative and willingness to learn
