Description
Knowledge/Skills:
Reporting to the Vice President Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of all accounting and reporting activities of JCH, including the JCH Medical Group. Daily activities to include the preparation of monthly financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of reported financial results, and ensure that the reported results comply with accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma quality improvement methodology strongly preferred.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to understand a situation, issues or problem by breaking it into smaller pieces, or tracking its implications step by step.
Collaboration: Ability to work cooperatively and inclusively with other individuals and/or teams not formally lead; working together as opposed to working separately or competitively.
Communication: Ability to use written and spoken communication in formal and informal situations to convey meaning, build shared understanding, and productively move agendas forward.
Responsibilities:
Oversees all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for accounting, accounts payable, treasury, and assistance with the coordination of payroll.
Maintains internal control over recognition of revenue, receipts of cash, and expenditures.
Consistently analyzes financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Assists leadership in the annual budget process, administers and reviews all financial plans, compares to actual results, and identifies, explains and corrects variances as appropriate.
Assists Department Managers with financial reporting and analysis.
Performs other related work as required or requested.
Requirements
Experience/Education:
A minimum of three years of experience in healthcare finance.
Experience in use of automated accounting software.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Business Administration with emphasis in accounting; completion of certified public accountant (CPA) preferred.
