Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting and reporting for renewable power projects under operations.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, this role is best suited for a person with strong organization, time management and technical skills, looking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. Cordelio will consider candidates without industry experience interested in the engaging and rapidly evolving renewable energy industry.
This position is based in Toronto, Canada with a hybrid work schedule.
ResponsibilitiesPrepares and manages monthly reconciliations for assigned entities.Ensures all deadlines are met during the month end close process.Prepares accounting analysis and financial statements under US GAAP and supports external audit.Prepares and coordinates management reporting with various stakeholders across the organization.Analyzes financial information and communicates results on monthly basis.Assists in the preparation of tax returns and other related filings.Implements best practice initiatives.Participates in the implementation and improvement of accounting software.Enforces a strong internal control environment.Answers ad-hoc requests for internal and external reporting for stakeholders.Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., new processes, procedures, and technology implementations).Experience, Skills & RequirementsBachelor's degree in: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Professional accounting designation such as CPA designation or equivalent.Minimum 2 years of relevant and progressive accounting experience with a solid understanding of all relevant duties. Previous exposure to complex accounting and tax structures, US GAAP/IFRS.Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications.Experience with NetSuite is considered an asset.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Exceptional technical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction, and time sensitive deadlines.Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team, under pressure and with time sensitive deadlines.Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.Additional Success FactorsDemonstrated flexibility and ability to scale and take on increasing responsibility as Cordelio grows.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.Strong analytical skills with demonstrated impact in previous roles.Industry experience desirable.Ability to travel to industry conferences and off-site team events.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this role. Compensation & BenefitsThe compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience.
