Senior Accountant

Job summary
Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare and maintain timely, accurate, and reliable accounting and financial records for M.A. Mortenson Company and related entities.
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Lead the accounting activities and analysis relevant to non-construction entities and businesses, including:• Preparation and posting of relevant journal entries• Assistance with the transition from Oracle EBS to Oracle Cloud• Assessment of current processes in place and implementation of process improvements to leverage automation and minimize manual work• Coordination of relevant communications/collaboration with internal stakeholders• Complete month-end financial close activities• Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and supporting documentation• Maintain formal procedures, internal controls, and appropriate segregation of duties• Assist with external auditors on interim and year-end audit activities• Perform ad hoc analysis and participate in special projects
Requirements
• Thorough knowledge of technical accounting principles/US GAAP, accounting processes/best practices, and internal controls• Shown ability in meeting expectations and related deadlines• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills• Professional, business-driven mentality• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail• Results- and deadline-oriented• Ability to work cross-functionally and in a team-based environment• Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action plans
