Position Summary Westman Atelier is seeking an impressive accounting professional with strong attention to detail, a flexible attitude, and willingness to work with our finance team on the monthly close, monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support. As the company continues to grow, this individual will assist the finance team with multiple initiatives, primarily in inventory, sales, and accounts payable, as well as, other accounting-related capacities when needed. Responsibilities: Perform day to day financial tasks, including verifying, classifying, and posting inventory, accounts payable, and general ledger transactionsMaintain and reconcile fixed asset, software capitalization, depreciation and amortization schedules on a monthly basisPost monthly journal entries and prepare reconciliation reports for the monthly close, following up on questions and information requests after reviewPrepare financial reports and documents for ad-hoc requests, regular reporting to teams, and company auditsReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, including the automation enhancement of existing month-end processesDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsInvestigate variances and reporting discrepancies and communicate issues as they arise in a timely mannerSupport for ad-hoc finance team projects, including FP&A special projects as appropriateSupport annual Financial Statement audit process & Annual Compliance requestsRequirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance4-6 years of relevant accounting experience; Combination of public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred, including 1+ years of relevant industry experience)CPA preferredSolid understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and the monthly closeProficiency in MS Office and general ERP experience, preferredExcellent communication skills, interpersonal, and leadership skillsExperience working with remote team environmentAbility to operate with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail with a problem-solving mindsetThis is a remote position, but the NY metro area is preferred. Westman Atelier offers a holistic total compensation package designed to support employees in all aspects of life, including a robust suite of health benefits, wellness perks, 401k, and paid parental leave. The base salary for this position will range from $90,000 - $110,000. Exact compensation may vary based on job related skills, experience, and location.
