Reporting to the Division Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the general ledger, monthly close and reconciliation activities, reporting for management use and compliance filings, and various duties in support of other departments. The role will provide an opportunity for personal professional growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:Reconcile the trial balancePrepare and post journal entriesAnalyze general ledger activity and variancesPrepare reports for management, external auditors, and external tax teamPerform daily/monthly bank account reconciliations ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Special projects and/or other related duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of:General Ledger AccountingMicrosoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel Ability to:Handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines regularly and consistentlyMaintain an extreme level of confidentialityStrong interpersonal and written communication skillsExercise good judgmentDetail-oriented; self-starterCommunicate effectively with all levels of staff throughout the organizationBuild and maintain positive working relationships with all co-workers and staffExperience and Training Guidelines:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or five (5) years' experience in accountingAgricultural/Manufacturing knowledge preferredAdvanced experience with Excel; SAP experience a plusStrong analytical abilities and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented and thorough; strong organizational skillsValid CDL and insurable driving record COMPETENCIES: Leadership: Provides strong leadership, sets a good example, skilled decision maker, motivator, encourager.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and sitting. Occasional lifting, and or moving up to 40 pounds. Constant use of overall vision and hearing abilities; frequent detail, reading and close up work.
