Graham Technologies (GTECH) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Team. Without the strength of a robust accountant, we could not offer the industry-leading service we are known for. The ideal candidate will have ample government contract experience and knowledge in all the aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Government Contract Project Controls, and Government Contract execution and will oversee the following responsibilities.
Your Role:
As the Sr. Accountant, you will be the financial steward for our government contracts and will be responsible for overseeing various financial functions. Your key responsibilities will include:
Financial Oversight:

Manage and maintain accurate accounts, general ledgers, A/P, A/R, and reporting systems.
Ensure strict adherence to government accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Strategic Planning:

Planned, directed, and coordinated all accounting operational functions specific to government contracts.
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with government contract requirements.

Financial Reporting:

Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements, including management reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to government agencies.

Payroll:

Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly for employees accurately and on time in CostPoint.
Calculate and input payroll data, including hours worked, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
Verify the accuracy of timesheets and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payments in a timely manner.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

Process Management:

Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing processes.
Analyze billing, expenses, and job costing for government contracts.

Compliance and Analysis:

Perform financial analysis of balance sheets and income statements related to government contracts.
Oversee regulatory reporting, including corporate tax planning and compliance for government contracts.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and train accounting staff to ensure high proficiency and compliance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of proven accounting experience, with a focus on government contracts.
In-depth knowledge of government accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with financial laws applicable to government contracting.
Proficiency in CostPoint is a must
Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active CPA license.
