Job Summary: Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the financial accuracy and internal controls of the cost accounting system, the data used for product costing and pricing, and inventory controls. This individual will assist with the preparation of the financial statements, monitoring inventory control functions, and the management of the working capital. The position also requires that the individual interfaces effectively across all functional areas and can perform under time constraints. Job Duties Maintain the cost accounting system and inventory. Identify improvements and changes to the system reflective of product and cost changes as they occur in the plant. Assist with other financial functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payables, month end closing, etc. Prepare and complete internal cost variance analysis. Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results. Analyze any changes in goods or services provided to determine what effect it has on the cost. Analyze manufacturing and SG&A costs and prepare regular reports comparing estimated or standard costs to actual production costs, and identify opportunities to reduce costs Prepare estimates of new and proposed product costs based on routings from Engineering. Provide reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services. Manage the periodic physical inventories and the inventory cycle count program. Responsible for other duties, special projects, and business analysis as assigned. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in accounting. Minimum 4 years of applicable work experience. Sound understanding of accounting principles. Solid cost systems background. Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills. Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
