Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Site Controller for our esteemed subsidiary within the dynamic Edison Works division. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting our commitment to achieving a Lean monthly close, ensuring the delivery of precise, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial data to both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our Government Business Controllership team to uphold site compliance with financial and contractual regulations mandated by the U.S. government.
Job Description:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the monthly closure of subsidiary ledgers in both the local ERP and GE Aerospace ERP systems, encompassing the meticulous recording of sales transactions and the application of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards to overtime accounted contracts.
- Exercise oversight over all accounting processes, including payroll, intercompany transactions, accounts payable, fixed assets, cash management, and revenue recognition.
- Take charge of preparing and/or reviewing general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Uphold the integrity of financial reporting data by implementing and executing robust internal controls over financial reporting.
- Implement and enforce GE Aerospace accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to government accounting (FAR) policies and procedures.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for transitioning the local ERP to a more advanced platform.
- Spearhead process improvement initiatives and streamline operations by leveraging Lean methodologies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster their professional growth.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, encompassing both technical and operational aspects.
Desired Characteristics:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated analytical prowess and strong organizational skills.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver results within stipulated timelines.
- Adept at influencing and driving outcomes in a matrixed organizational setup.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to anticipate, articulate, and resolve challenges effectively.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks, Unanet, and Oracle systems would be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary for this position falls within the range of $110,000 to $150,000 annually. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of the base salary, as well as commission based on the plan.
