The successful candidate will serve as a functional expert and senior advisor on government auditing standards, including the Inspector General Act, and will be responsible for interagency coordination with entities such as the General Accounting Office and the Council of the Inspector General on Integrity and Efficiency.
This role involves working closely with the Deputy Inspector General for Audits and Assistant Inspector Generals for Audits to address highly complex and sensitive matters, as well as to prepare for engagements with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
The Senior Advisor will also be involved in strategic planning, setting goals, and formulating implementation plans to enhance the performance and productivity of the Office of Audits.
Applicants for the Senior Advisor position must be U.S. citizens and be able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in applying auditing principles and standards, leading initiatives to improve organizational efficiency, and managing complex projects.
The Senior Advisor will be expected to provide expert policy and strategic advice, analyze internal programs, and ensure the effectiveness of work methods and procedures.
The position is critical-sensitive and high-risk, with a focus on preventing waste, fraud, and abuse.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government auditing, a deep understanding of the relevant authorities, and the ability to maintain cross-departmental relationships to support the leadership's success.
