Education: Bachelor's degree required, but Master's is preferred
Experience: NAF-level experience is required, and AFFOR, MAJCOM Staff experience is desired.
3 years minimum, broken down as follows:
3 years as AOC SADO, SADO Mentor or Instructor (M) 3 Years R/SADC level team leader (E-3, NORAD, CRC, service equivalent OR A/A aircraft commander flight lead with DCA experience). Computer Experience: Ability to use Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro are both required.
Knowledge: The SME must have in-depth understanding of the following:
Current Integrated Air and Missile Defense doctrine and TTPs An understanding of the duties and functions of the AADC in theater warfare A familiarity with the capabilities and functions of the AAMDC An understanding of current AOC SADO team duties and responsibilities as well as R/SADC duties Familiarity with the duties and functions of the CCO, SODO, Dynamic Targeting Cell and subordinate duty officers Understanding of the Area Air Defense Plan, form, functions and planning methodology with emphasis on the development of Critical Asset and Defended Asset lists. Description: Duties include but are not limited to:
The SME must know the details of doctrinal AOC defensive operations cell processes and is the AADC's representative charged with executing theater air and missile defense if required in the exercise. The SME manages all theater C2 assets, with some exceptions, and theater defense operations. The SME will coordinate with WOCs, Air Battle Managers, BCD, TMDO, ADA liaison, SOLE, NALE and MARLE personnel, Space and ISR representatives if present or represented in the exercise. For most AOC RC events, the SME is the only defensive team member and may be required to replicate the full scope of defensive team responsibilities. The SME will work closely with the air, space, and cyber "fly out" replication cell or other white force members to accurately and effectively support training audience requirements and exercise execution. Recommend changes in the air defense status, in coordination with the Theater Missile Defense Officer (TMDO) and the BCD, to the training audience. Will coordinate with the TMDO in overseeing the execution/notification of theater ballistic missile warning and response. Ensures communications/coordination is maintained with subordinate C2 agencies, RADC and SADC. Overall control authority for the Air Defense Command and Control Net (ADCCN). Maintain situational awareness of the enemy air/ground threat. Assess available fighter and air defense missile assets, and coordinate as necessary to obtain sufficient air defense resources. Coordinate with tactical C2 elements (Control and Reporting Center (CRC), Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS), E-2, Tactical Air Operations Center (TAOC), Aegis Cruiser (Red Crown) to obtain optimum radio and radar coverage and CAP coverage.
