Geosyntec is currently seeking a Senior Air Dispersion Modeling Scientist to help us grow our national Air Quality and Climate Practice in Richmond, VA.
This person will have an entrepreneurial attitude, be enthusiastic, and lead technical efforts focused on providing strategic solutions to our clients' most complex problems.
The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience providing air quality consulting services with a focus on air modeling applications.
This position will collaborate heavily with our Air Practice teams, as well as other core practices and high growth areas across Geosyntec.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities with our clients.
Some of the specific technical responsibilities for this position include:
technical lead for air quality projects related to air modeling, air quality regulations and strategic advice, air pollution control, emissions quantification and studies, environmental impact assessments, air permitting, and compliance solutions.
Technical leader for air quality matters, regulatory analyses as driven by the Clean Air Act, air modeling, as well as state and local regulations and reporting programs.
Provide consulting services, with a focus on ADM services, for air permitting (such as NSR, PSD, Title V, GHG, EPCRA and state-level pre-construction and operating permits), and air quality impact assessments involving dispersion modeling and health risk assessment.
Support the assessment and development engineering solutions using applied analytical and statistical techniques Assist in the development and planning of new and modified facilities, as well as providing integrated consulting, environmental, design and construction support for some of the largest projects in the U.S. Work closely with related teams across the Company (e.g., Environmental Permitting & Planning, Sustainability, Environmental Management Action Group, client teams, etc.)
and multiple staff in other offices.
Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
(required) Advanced degree in engineering, meteorology, or science.
(preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 15 years of air quality program and project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
