Job Summary Quandary Consultants is seeking a Senior Air Quality Scientist to join our growing Air Quality team. This position will support various new and existing air quality permitting and compliance Oil and Gas projects including, preparation of emission inventories, permit application development, regulatory review, compliance recordkeeping, greenhouse gas reporting air monitoring, etc. Duties/Responsibilities Work directly with clients to perform and coordinate air compliance and permitting tasksConduct air emissions calculations for permitting, emissions inventories, annual compliance reporting, and greenhouse gas reportsConduct peer review of teammates' calculations and reports, providing constructive feedbackPrepare and submit air permit applications to state and federal agenciesUtilize emissions modeling softwareProficient in state, federal, tribal, and local air compliance and permitting regulations and assist clients in implementing operational and reporting requirementsAt times, overnight client work may be required but is not expectedAssist in preparation, deployment, and all sampling aspects of air monitoring activitiesDemonstrate commitment to safety and environmental compliance in all job aspectsProvide guidance to clients for site design/operations to ensure compliance with regulationsAct as a liaison between clients and regulatory agenciesAnalytical and problem-solving abilities to identify safety risks, analyze data, and develop effective solutions Required Skills/Abilities Professional demeanor and experience writing technical reportsStrong attention to detail and able to follow specific directions and tasksTeam player; receptive to feedback and open to constructive criticismCapable of managing projects, meeting budgets, and being the main point of communication for client contactAbility to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced and challenging environmentProficiency with Microsoft excel, including use of pivot tablesStrong understanding of air quality compliance requirements in various statesExperience with clean air act (NSPS OOO/a/b/c, KKKK, JJJJ, KKK, VV VVA GG)Familiarity with oil and gas equipment, operational practices, field environment and technical and engineering terms related to these practicesAbility to read through complex stat and federal regulations to determine applicability to varying client facilities and scenariosMonitor federal, state, and local air quality regulations and rulemakingsParticipate in trade and professional associations to support the above responsibilitiesDemonstrates initiative by appropriately taking charge of situationsStrong verbal skills and ability to lead meetings with staff on air quality permitting and complianceValid drivers license and proven safe driving record Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field required9+ years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance, environmental consulting, or a related field Working conditions/Physical Requirements Standing and sitting for prolonged periods of timeInclement weather conditions when field work is requiredSome travel (5-10% annually) including overnight stayAbility to lift up to 50 pounds Expected Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 annually, DOE
