Our team is the Fluor Center of Excellence for Metals, Fertilizers and Lithium, and we are excited to be a key contributor to industries that are shaping the next wave of sustainable urban development.We are seeking an experienced Aluminum Steel Equipment Engineer that will be a key resource in the development of front end and detail engineering activities. This candidate would be responsible for, as a minimum:• Translation of client product requirements into OEM equipment specification and sizing• Owner and OEM collaboration in development of an optimized plant layout utilizing current technologies• Development of system layout including material flows, equipment utilization, scrap handling, crane utilization, and operator optimization• Development of baseline project documents including equipment costs, estimates, schedules, and facility and services written scopes• Perform front end studies such as cost vs. benefit analysis to determine most cost effective system application and layout• Development of Aluminum Steel Mill system design criteria and technical specifications• Develop equipment specifications, data sheets, and narratives to support the procurement of OEM equipment• Develop Requisitions, perform bid analysis of OEM quotes, and finalize purchasing documents.• Review OEM designs to ensure compliance with specification requirements• Coordinate design activities with the associated disciplines and construction• Serve as a technical specialist and mentor to other engineers in a collaborative environment• Be a team leader and lead a team of more junior engineers in an interdisciplinary environment• Other duties as assignedBasic Job Requirements• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerPreferred Qualifications• 10-20 years aluminum or steel mill and/or extrusion experience, including operations and maintenance• Understanding of, and experience with, Aluminum and/or Steel Processing operations and maintenance• Experience with:o Manufacturing and Processing Equipmento Aluminum or Steel processing Equipmento Aluminum Coil Handling including Auto and Semi-Auto Crane Specificationo Plant and Material Handling System Layoutso Hot and Cold Rolling Millso Stretchingo Coil Coatingo Slittingo Heat Treatingo Roll Grindingo Roll Handling and Packingo Recycle Aluminum Material HandlingOther Job Requirements• Understand the current capabilities of automation tools and confirm that they are being utilized to the full benefit of the department and project• Support sales efforts by assisting in sales presentations, estimates and proposals including negotiating commercial terms• Develop and execute the appropriate section of the project procedures manual for the project assigned• Maintain a safe work environment by administering a proactive environmental, health and safety program oriented towards maintenance activities and zero accidents • Participate in the career development of Commissioning and Start up personnel• Continually improve personal technical, commercial, and organizational knowledge and skills• Align and incorporate new team members through coaching and/or other orientation practices• Enhance skills, performance, and development of all employees by sponsoring and promoting training programs so that adherence to specifications is ensured and work of the highest quality prevails
