POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Analyst or Associate will play a key role in the support and execution of the private markets investment strategy. The individual will work in a team environment to source and perform due diligence on private equity, venture capital, energy, credit and other private market strategies. The candidate will also be responsible for providing analytical support on co-investment and secondary opportunities, assist in conducting capital market research, asset allocation analyses and gain exposure to the organization's public investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES Work with the investment team to manage a large institutional investment portfolio with significant exposure to alternative investments.Support investment team on sourcing and managing inflow of investment opportunities.Lead due diligence on private market investment opportunities including financial modeling, valuation analysis, track record analysis, attribution analysis, conducting reference calls, and other required analyses.Monitor the performance of the firm's existing investment portfolio, fund managers and underlying portfolio companies; prepare for and participate in meetings with managers and conduct on-going due diligence.Assist in the preparation of portfolio accountings, including investment performance, asset allocation and risk reports.Assist in capital markets research and developing asset allocation recommendations.Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models for analyzing the investment portfolio and its risk and cash flow profiles.Closely monitor financial press and keep track of market trends, opportunities, risks and new investment products.Liaise with fund managers and network with industry professionals.QUALIFICATION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The candidate must have a genuine passion for investing, demonstrable interest in private markets and an interest in portfolio management.Ability and willingness to travel.The ability to deliver high-quality work in a timely fashion with limited supervisory oversight.Strong attention to detail.A self-confident professional who recognizes the value of collaboration and teamwork.Superior math skills; excellent quantitative and analytical skills.Well-developed interpersonal skills to allow the candidate to successfully interface with private equity firms, external service providers and other members of the investment team.Strong oral and written communication skills necessary for the preparation and delivery of investment analysis and recommendations.Significant experience with MS Excel, Outlook and Power Point; exposure to investment analysis software (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Burgiss, Caissa, etc.) preferred.COMPENSATION
