Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the retail industry, is looking for a talented Senior Analyst to join their team in a full time, hybrid position in Birmingham, AL. The Senior Analyst, HR - HCMS II will play a critical role in configuring and maintaining Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. Acting as the HCM expert and liaison for the department, this position will focus on understanding business needs, investigating system issues, documenting changes, and enhancing system capabilities to better serve departmental and organizational goals. Responsibilities of the right candidate: Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday in the areas of Learning & Performance and Talent Management. Configure and maintain HCM systems, ensuring compliance with internal audits and legal regulations. Act as the lead analyst for designated functional areas, identifying innovative solutions to meet technology needs and enhance system functionality. Collaborate closely with business leaders to assess needs, trends, and challenges, developing project plans for automations and initiatives. Partner with the Learning team to manage training, auditing practices, and troubleshooting issues. Oversee large-scale system changes, ensuring thorough testing and documentation to facilitate smooth transitions. Manage the HCM calendar, prioritizing cyclic and ad-hoc requests while communicating changes and updates effectively. Stay informed about system releases and advancements, implementing relevant updates and functionalities. Investigate system issues and roadblocks, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions. Conduct testing for new functionalities introduced in system releases. Collaborate with the Data Analytics and IT teams to optimize HCM system utilization. Mentor and delegate tasks to junior HCM analysts, fostering their development and training. Uphold internal control procedures to protect company assets and financial information, reporting potential fraud risks to management. Experience of the right candidate: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of relevant Workday HRIS experience required. Strong experience with Workday Learning, Performance, and Talent Management. Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are preferred. Workday Pro badge in Learning or Performance and Talent, preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
