The team you will be a part of
The Quality Generalist team conducts internal quality controls concerning particular areas or company products to ensure they fulfill given quality procedures and norms. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Preparing quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes.
This role in summary
This position is within the Plant Quality organization reporting directly to the Plant Quality Leader. The main function of this role is to develop a robust assembly process that ensures quality is built at the station and continuous improvement in the quality metrics for the fabrication and finish areas.
Your responsibilities will include
Lead the quality effort for the manufacturing process to meet division metrics (Cp & Cpk, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) / First Pass Yield (FPY), Scrap%).
Monitor Cp / Cpk from critical processes and lead Kaizen to improve process capability and prioritize process capability improvement projects.
Own the 7 steps of Quality Maintenance to use World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Quality Control (QC) methodology to solve Machine issues.
Develop and lead cross functional team to execute X Matrix and Quality Maintenance Matrix for equipment related problems and support Maintenance teams to expand the use of these tools on AA machines to establish Operating Standards.
Supervise the final Quality process Technicians and First Responders that are assigned to manufacturing process quality.
Track and identify projects to address FPY issues on the line to meet aggressive division targets. Implement changes and Kaizen projects to address those issues as necessary.
Lead from Quality Make part PPAPs
Supervise the Quality process Technicians that are assigned to Metrology.
Leadership in QC Pillar as QC Specialist for Machine Issues and coach Pillar Team members to drive deep understanding and effective utilization of QC Methods.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
Understanding and practical application of fundamental quality tools for problem solving.
Demonstrate problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills
Preferred skills and experiences
Advanced technical degree, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or CQE certification.
10+ years experience in Quality role in a manufacturing environment
World Class Manufacturing (WCM), 5 Why, Kaizen, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), background / previous experience
Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a lead player, apply critical thinking and make decisions.
Dynamic self-starter with ability to work independently and with cross functional teams.
Must have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, global team members, and the supply base.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple quality projects with minimum supervision.
In depth computer skills and PC proficiency Google Apps
