We are currently searching for a Senior Associate to join our high performing Internal Controls and SOX Advisory team in New York. We offer a hybrid work environment that will allow you to continue working with the flexibility that you have grown accustomed to over the past few years, while also continuing to provide onsite service to our fantastic clients. There is some local travel throughout the New York area for 2-3 days per week, with the remaining workdays spent remotely.  Out-of-town travel is very rare. 
Senior Associates collaborate with project team members to successfully deliver internal control advisory projects; ranging from SOX readiness to first-year implementations and on-going compliance.


\n Responsibilities:Provide excellent timely client service, deliver high quality work, and foster client relationshipsAssist in design and implementation of the internal control framework; identifying risks and corresponding key controls surrounding internal controls over financial reportingCollaborate with process owners to create process narratives, risk and control matrices and flowcharts, and ensure documentation is kept up to-date for scoping, testing, and remediation activitiesLead process walkthrough inquiries with management, develop probing questions, and identify relevant control attributesEvaluate, synthesize, organize and interpret data and information to conclude on design and operating effectiveness of key controlsIdentify control deficiencies and develop value add solutions to that are actionable by leveraging your knowledge, prior experiences, and leading practicesAssist with Active Project Manager with project management activities including status tracking, reporting, and oversight of off-shore delivery teamDemonstrate clear and concise writing and verbal skills to communicate complex issues in simple terms to clients and team membersActive effort in improving technical and project management skills by leveraging on the job feedback, performance evaluations, mentoring and firm-sponsored formal training programs including monthly CPE and Subject Matter Expert (SME) trainingBe a trusted advisor and intermediary between our clients and their auditors; responding timely to client needs and acting as a key contact with clientsBalance competing priorities with minimal client disruptions, managing time effectively to maintain project progress Requirements:Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Finance or a related field of studyMinimum 2 1/2 years of experience at a public accounting firm with external audit, advisory, or internal audit servicesKnowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving complianceExperience with evaluating and testing the design and operating effectiveness within both a 404(a) and 404(b) SOX environment is preferredProfessional certification (or active pursuit) of CPA, CIA, or similar is preferred but not required (CNM provides extensive resources and support to enable our team to learn and grow and obtain professional certifications if you do not yet have these certifications)Have an understanding of core business processes such as Financial Close, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Revenue etc. Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and conciselyExperience translating complicated issues into simple and easy to understand terms to guide clientsAbility to adapt to unexpected changes in timelines, deadlines, and scope of work Pay and Benefits:40-hour work weekTraining events to ensure CPE complianceMedical, Dental, Vision Plans401(k) matchPTO: 15 days accrued per year            Company paid holidays, including company shutdown the week between Christmas and New Years3 wellness daysVarious opportunities for peer engagement: quarterly huddles, happy hours, summer and a holiday partyMonthly mobile reimbursementReimbursement allowances: flex, technology, and health and wellness Fully stocked kitchen Base Pay $95,000 - $110,000              Overtime bonus and Performance bonus in addition to the base pay
