Your Responsibilities
As a SeniorAttorney for John Deerelocated in Moline, IL, you will:
Provide advice and counsel to leadership, human resources and business units regarding a wide range of employment laws including joint employment, wage and hour, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OWBPA, OSHA, Title VII, and WARN, company policies and practices.
Provide advice and counsel to human resources and business units on employment related policies, procedures, severance agreements, and other documents.
Manage all aspects of assigned claims and litigation matters, including administrative agency proceedings, with a focus on employment matters. Manage responses to third-party subpoenas and other regulatory matters as assigned.
Provide complex training to HR on various employment law issues, terminations, reductions in force, etc.
Manage attorney demand letters, arbitrations, and other forms of dispute handling, participate in mediation/settlement conferences and prepare/review settlement agreements as appropriate.
Draft, review, and revise responses for agency complaints and requests.
Evaluate use of outside counsel.

What Skills You Need
3 or more years of experience in the practice of employment law in a private law firm or corporate law department.
3 or more years of experience counseling clients on employment law matters.
3 or more years of experience performing legal research on legal issues and assessing applicability of legal requirements and risk in the employment law area.
3 or more years of litigation experience.
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and including delivering training and other presentations.
Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience counseling business clients on employment law, OSHA, Occupational Health, and/or workers' compensation matters.
Experience in litigation and/or advising specific to employment law, OSHA, Occupational Health, and/or workers' compensation matters.
Knowledge of legal holds and discovery processes
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree
Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S. and have the ability to obtain an Illinois law license or Illinois In-House license
