Job Title: Senior Automation Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary:
A highly experienced mechanical engineering professional who takes charge of complex automation projects, from design and development through to manufacturing and implementation. The role involves providing expert technical guidance, leadership in project execution, and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring that all projects meet safety and quality standards.
Major Areas of Responsibilities: Conduct advanced engineering analysis to select parts, components, and materials that satisfy project requirements across all stages, including design, validation, and troubleshooting. Lead the design and analysis of new and modified mechanical components and subsystems, adhering to engineering standards and project specifications. Engage in specialized research, modeling, and simulation in strategic technical areas, ensuring high-performance outcomes. Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability throughout the project lifecycle.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience. Extensive experience in automation systems and tooling design. Comprehensive knowledge in component design, manufacturing, materials, heat treating, and GD&T. Proficiency in fabrication techniques and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). General understanding of machining processes and industry standards. Advanced experience using SolidWorks software. Strong background in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably with SolidWorks FEA package. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to collaborate across cross-functional and global teams. Proven leadership skills, interpersonal abilities, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude. Ability to produce clear and concise technical writing and work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, peers, and management.Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with ANSI B11.19 safety regulations. Registered Professional Engineer or actively working toward licensure, preferably in Machine Design and Materials. Basic knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma concepts. PRO181
