Job Description As Senior Buyer at SmartRent, you will be responsible for purchasing hardware for SmartRent's Smart Communities Solutions which includes access control, wifi, smart home, and other IoT hardware products. You'll work directly with our vendors/suppliers to procure the appropriate inventory levels. You'll also develop and maintain forecasts for all products and provide reporting and updates to senior leadership. Lastly, you'll report to our Sr. Director of Supply Chain Operations and work out of our Scottsdale, AZ headquarters.
Responsibilities Develop and maintain forecasts for all products based upon historical sales data, sales pipeline, and customer insights. Generate and track purchase orders and deliveries based upon forecasts and plan for every part. Establish and maintain Min/Max for high turnover SKUs and maintain inventory levels accordingly. Meet weekly with vendors to check shipment statuses to ensure deliveries are being made on time and staying informed about any potential product delays. Escalating potential problems as needed while strategizing and executing resolutions to avoid stock outs. And maintain accurate records accordingly. Daily review of the pending sales order queue and/ or the back order report, generate purchase orders for products not held in stock. Submit SKU requests for new product introductions and replacement products. Communicate with impacted departments to make sure correct products are being recommended/ ordered. Routinely review and maintain minimum inventory balances within the ERP system, validate expected inventory, and update balances based upon business needs. Quarterly review of inventory items with low turnover rate; gameplan with supply chain leadership on proper disposition. Generating weekly/monthly/ quarterly reports showcasing internal KPI's. Perform data analysis to proactively plan or resolve issues. Maintain and update vendor scorecards. Work with warehouse receiving personnel to ensure purchase order quantities are received in full. Work with vendors/ file claims when short shipments are found. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, operations, and finance. Perform other duties as requested. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing, forecasting, supply chain operations or relevant experience, preferably in a technology or hardware industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization. Advanced computer skills using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office. Demonstrated experience using advanced formulas in Google sheets and/ or Excel. Experience using ERP systems E.g. NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, etc. Prior experience generating forecasts. Strong organizational skills. Must work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently with minimal supervision. Proactive, self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with smart home devices, IoT, access control devices. APICS or ISM certification. NetSuite proficiency. Experience with Salesforce.
