Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for procuring materials for blow molding machinery and products to meet the operational needs of the client, ensuring optimal price, quality, and delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the management team in achieving cost reductions and quality and delivery initiatives. Follow strategic operating plans to ensure adequate product availability aligned with market demand. Communicate forecast plans to gain buy-in from sales, supply chain, and manufacturing. Determine safety stock levels for assigned parts. Coordinate meetings with sales and product management to validate forecasts. Maintain and update master files (item master, item branch plant, etc.). Manage ABC classifications by SKU number. Maintain reorder points and min/max levels by SKU number. Administer interplant warehouse transfers. Identify potential product shortages and recommend productivity or method improvements. Execute purchase orders (POs) to MRP-driven plan. Ensure standard purchasing processes are followed for goods and services. Update POs with supplier confirmation information (delivery dates, quantities, etc.). Process purchase orders, reviewing each for quantity, price, specification, and delivery requirements. Respond to internal RFIs (Requests for Information). Coordinate material deliveries to ensure on-time supply chain delivery. Review and act on MRP messages to maintain material flow. Expedite, research, and resolve missing, late, or incorrect orders. Monitor and assign ship dates to backordered materials. Address pricing, quality, or delivery issues with management support. Quote all non-standard purchase orders and new engineering releases. Process drop shipments. Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned. Maintain accurate system lead times. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of supply chain metrics. Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively across all organizational levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to thrive in a cross-functional work environment. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a supply chain-related field with at least 5 years of buying/planning experience or at least 8 years of related experience. Work Environment: Office/Manufacturing environment. Employees may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, and other hazards associated with manufacturing activities.
