Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Mountain View, California, three times per week, at minimum (or other frequency dictated by the business).
The Role - As a Sr. Buyer, you will be responsible for the purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling, and/or services. You will actively participate in the development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and collaborate with suppliers or internal partners. The work is of a sophisticated nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work, and judgment.
What You'll Do Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget, and on-time metrics. Adhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures. Sourcing and Contracting Activities that include, but are not limited to: Sourcing event bid strategy & management. Bid analytics. Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR, technical documentation. Leadership sourcing recommendation/alignment. Management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to the GM Audit Services. Cooperate with legal to negotiate special contract terms. Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items. Support commercial budget activities. Support supplier management initiatives, including "Strategic Supplier Engagement." Nurture relationships with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution. Perform rate management activities including spot buys, rate analysis, and supplier requests. Participate in supplier KPI reviews. The salary range for this role is (98,900 - 158,000). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
