Senior EPA/CARBCertificationEngineerSenior Engineering level responsibilities for Ensuring certification to Various Regulations  ABOUT Re:CarRe:Car, a subsidiary of Re:Build Manufacturing, is a new US Electric Vehicle company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space. Who we are looking for:Re:Car is looking for an energetic, organized, experiencedSenior EPA/CARBCertificationEngineerto join our growing team.  The Ideal candidate will have significant experience interacting with EPA, CARB and independent testing organizations to obtain the proper environmental certifications to enable the sale of Electric Vehicles.  This person must be able to be able to guide engineers in these standards, so they are able to design the vehicle to comply with the standards. Experience and knowledge of US FMVSS regulations is a plus. Responsibilities:TheSenior Certification Engineerwill report to the Head of Safety and Homologation.  This person will work with engineering to understand and interpret CARB and EPA standards and assist engineering in creating design requirements to ensure the vehicle is being designed to meet the applicable standards.  This person will ensure the plan is communicated to management and any potential roadblocks are quickly brought to light.  A close working relationship with various engineering personnel to ensure vehicle designs consider the appropriate regulations.  This candidate will be responsible to develop, document, guide, and track all requirements working with other Safety and Compliance team members, and ultimately assist in the creation of compliance test reports.   Team members need to be knowledgeable in emission test practices, current & future regulatory requirements, CFR (Code of Federal Regulation) & CCR (Code of California Regulation).  The ability to quickly understand regulations and guide engineering personnel with confidence is a must.  The Ideal candidate should have experience calculating and transacting various related Credits (ZEV, GHG, CAFÉ)Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.      5+ years of experience with Vehicle Emissions, Safety and Compliance and related areas. Excellent communication and relationship building skills.Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail.Technical writing and documentation experienceKnowledge of EPA and CARB testing procedures and application to EV.Legally authorized to work in the United States
