Job Title Senior Civil Engineer - Hydrologist Vacancy No VN3896 Employment Type Permanent Contract Type Full-Time Advert SLR International Corporation is seeking a Senior-level Civil Engineer / Hydrologist to work in our Reno, NV office. The newly established Reno office of SLR provides a full range of professional services on a variety of challenging projects that include geotechnical engineering, earthworks and grading, stormwater management design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, environmental remediation and construction quality monitoring.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a principal engineer and mentoring junior staff while directing their own projects and technical work flows to deliver on; design; analysis; and preparation of specifications, stormwater calculations, and technical reports for a wide variety of mining and industrial projects. Projects will also include stream morphology, stream restoration, streambank stabilization, erosivity modeling, and landform evolution.

Seven to ten years of experience Working knowledge of Engineering and Hydrology / Hydraulics programs including but not limited to: AutoCAD Civil 3D. HEC HMS, HEC RAS, SIBERIA, CEASAR LISFLOOD, RUSLE2 Possess valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications M.Sc. preferred Willing to travel by car and airplane including overnight travel for domestic projects Demonstrate advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis software preferred Working knowledge of Engineering and Hydrology / Hydraulics programs including but not limited to: ArcMap, SIBERIA, CEASAR LISFLOOD Personal Attributes and Traits Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities Ability to learn new engineering topics and software quickly Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a team environment Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Excellent time management skills Needs little oversight, can be a self-starter Thinks and plans ahead Willingly accepts assigned tasks ("can-do / will-do") with initiative to take on more Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Lead and take professional ownership of projects in a technical capacity Perform engineering work for industrial and mining projects Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analysis calculations for storm drainage Calculation of construction and earthwork quantities Visit project sites for the purpose of data collection and monitoring, performing investigations and / or performing construction inspection services Utilize a variety of computer programs including AutoCAD Civil 3D software to undertake designs and computations Write memos and calculation packages to document work performed Compensation Range: The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $100,000.00 to $120,000.00. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
