Lead estimating teams to produce accurate and comprehensive project cost assessments. Assign and distribute tasks among team members to ensure project timelines are met. Work closely with clients and design teams to facilitate effective communication and project alignment. Conduct and oversee detailed material and quantity take-offs to support accurate pricing models. Implement strategies to meet small business participation targets where necessary. Ensure all project deliverables related to estimates are consistent and meet client requirements. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the accuracy of estimates in relation to project goals. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, creating trade-specific lists for use in budgeting, bidding, and RFP processes. Prepare bid comparisons and cost breakdowns, including expenses such as site overheads, permits, and other general costs. Conduct thorough reviews of subcontractor scopes to identify potential project risks. Independently create detailed estimates for self-perform work. Work collaboratively to develop cost-saving measures that meet client budget constraints. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators, fostering growth within the team. Support preconstruction initiatives across different office locations as needed. Qualifications: A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy-civil construction or related sectors. Familiarity with industrial or mechanical installations (e.g., crushers, pumps, conveyors) is a bonus. Basic Requirements: Applicants must be 18 or older. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with construction classification systems like CSI, MasterFormat, or Uniformat is required. Strong knowledge of civil construction techniques, equipment, and processes. Experience in developing estimates for self-perform work, including earthworks, utilities, site clearing, and rock processing. Demonstrated progression in senior estimating roles within commercial construction. Familiarity with estimating and construction management software (e.g., Building Connected, Agtek, B2W). Proficiency in both hard bid and conceptual estimating. Ability to lead site visits and attend pre-bid meetings. Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with keen attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. A self-driven team player who can work autonomously and in a team environment.
