Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Senior Community Involvement & Events Specialist, who will be responsible for coordinating and implementing Redwood Credit Union's (RCU's) community involvement and event programs and efforts with a strong focus on creating positive social impact. Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, executing quality community involvement programs and multi-campus community room resources, building RCU's reputation, image, and brand, representing RCU in our communities, and monitoring and reporting results. The overall focus is to maintain an outstanding community involvement program for RCU that allows the credit union to authentically give back and create positive, lasting social impact in our communities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Community Room Facilitations • Manage scheduling and reservation process for RCU's community room resources in all locations.
• Maintain and oversee RCU's guidelines for use of the community rooms, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
• Serve as the point of contact for inquiries and requests related to the community rooms.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of the community rooms for events, collaborating with Facilities to fulfill requests.
• Conduct periodic inspections of the community rooms to ensure they are maintained and in clean and functional condition.
• Develop and maintain a process to track usage of the community rooms, including types of organizations utilizing the space and event outcomes.
• Collaborate with community partners to ensure their successful use of the community rooms, providing them with information on available resources, technology, or catering options.
• Work with internal strategies and lines of business owners to identify opportunities to utilize the community rooms to support RCU's strategic initiatives, such as employee engagement, community outreach, or marketing campaigns.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the functionality, appeal, and user experience of the community rooms based on internal and external feedback.
Community Involvement Facilitation • Partner with Community leadership to develop budgets, implement programs, and monitor their effectiveness in increasing RCU's social impact.
• Assist with creating and maintaining reporting tools (Smartsheet, Event Net, etc.) to track program outcomes and social impact.
• Generate detailed reports and communicate program results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Branch Managers and Business Development Officers to design market-specific community initiatives.
• Foster and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify key connections at events and within the community.
• Respond to external sponsorship requests.
• Ensure RCU ambassadors are strategically deployed across the membership field.
• Provide training to team members on effective community engagement and board participation.
• Motivate and enlist volunteers and team captains for successful events.
• Maintain relationships with chambers, businesses, and community partners.
• Update RCU's website and other communication platforms regarding community activities.
• Collaborate with Marketing and PR to showcase RCU's community efforts.
• Coordinate and implement a community recognition program for team members and volunteers.
Community Representation • Professionally represent RCU in the community at events.
• Support event invitations with Executive Office to ensure smooth participation and communication with Board, Officials, and Senior Leadership Team.
• With diplomacy and trust, develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Exercise cultural competency regarding our communities and important social impact-related issues.
• Provide regular program updates, reports, and recommendations, in relation to community opportunities and RCU's social impact.
\n Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and managing community involvement programs, including event coordination and relationship building.Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Strong experience in event planning and execution, including budgeting, logistics, and stakeholder management.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to ensure quality control.Exceptional communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills. Also, excellent grasp of English language including grammar and punctuation. Report generation and executive-grade communication a must. Spanish language abilities preferred but not required.Ability to analyze situations and data and recommend strategic solutions.Excellent service skills and abilities.Strong ability to collaborate with comprehensive projects and efforts that lead to excellent results.Applicable working knowledge of computers, software, and technology. Skill in the operation of a PC with internet/intranet, operating systems, donor databases word processing, spreadsheets, presentation & graphics software, design, multi-media, video, and websites.Strong knowledge and ability to use online tools and resources to accomplish tasks and organize other activities. This includes knowledge and interest in online tracking systems, donation devices, etc.Working knowledge of consumer financial services industry. Physical RequirementsAbility to use a computer, computer software, keyboard, databases, and calculator.Ability to stand and lift up to 30 pounds.Ability to perform event set up such as moving chairs and tables, organizing giveaways, supporting booth set ups, arranging event plans, etc.Work environment is both indoors at a desk and at times at event locations.
\nThe ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in community relations, public relations/affairs, business or related field and a minimum of five years of specific job-related experience including nonprofit or community programs, event and project management, and relationship building.
Compensation: Base starting range: $42.00 to $56.00 per hour commensurate with experience. Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
