The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and solutions-oriented attorney with a positive energy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think creatively.
Responsibilities for this role include contract drafting and negotiation, particularly focusing on complex agreements and transactions, as well as ensuring regulatory compliance.
The Senior Counsel will also be involved in structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complicated procurement and construction agreements, providing counsel on corporate governance matters, and supervising outside legal counsel on regulatory issues.
Additionally, the role involves advising on a range of legal matters related to plant operations, including dispute resolution, and contributing to the establishment and maintenance of legal templates and processes.
Applicants for the Senior Counsel position should have a College Degree and a Juris Doctor Degree, with a minimum of 4 years' experience, including at least 3 years in a medium to large law firm setting.
The candidate must be a strategic thinker, demonstrate sound legal and business judgment, and have a proven track record of building strong relationships with internal business clients.
Experience in areas such as energy, construction, engineering procurement, high-dollar procurement, or real estate is viewed favorably.
The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative legal team that values accuracy, excellence, and a responsive, solution-oriented approach to providing legal services.
The role requires the ability to work independently, under pressure when necessary, and to interact with senior leadership and clients across the organization.
