Summary
The Legal Senior Counsel (Manufacturing and Operations) at LG Electronics USA (LGEUS) will provide comprehensive legal support for LG's manufacturing, logistics and related operations in Tennessee, Texas, and Alabama, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risks within the company.
This role involves a significant amount of commercial and procurement contract support, as well as dispute management, compliance oversight, and supporting both local and global operations.
Responsibilities Contract Support: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including manufacturing and supply agreements, purchase agreements, and service agreements.
Disputes Management: Manage and resolve claims and litigation concerning contract disputes, construction issues, and other commercial disputes, safeguarding the company's interests.
Compliance & ESG: Advise and stay abreast on company and government regulatory issues in the areas of trade regulations, environmental, health, safety and other areas applicable to manufacturing and related logistics operations.
General Corporate: Provide strategic legal counsel on general corporate affairs to senior management, ensuring informed decision-making and adherence to legal standards.
Outside Counsel: Manage outside law firm partners.
Budget and track spending and associated forecasting and reporting requirements.
Projects: Work on legal department projects as needed.
Qualifications JD degree, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal counsel role supporting manufacturing with substantial focus on contract advice and negotiation.
Experience in trade affairs, CBP and transportation regulatory issues desired.
Strong ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent analytical and negotiation skills, and the capacity to work under pressure and communicate effectively.
Sound risk assessment capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects with precision.
Skilled in coordinating and aligning the efforts of stakeholders from various parts of the organization in cross-functional initiatives, ensuring effective collaboration and timely completion of projects.
Position located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, with travel (up to 25%) required.
New Jersey Bar license or ability to promptly obtain NJ in-house counsel license.
