The successful candidate will be a key member of the Legal Privacy Team, working in close collaboration with a global group of privacy and data protection professionals.
The role involves providing expert legal counsel on a wide range of global data protection and privacy laws, with a particular emphasis on US regulations and industry standards.
The Senior Counsel will be responsible for advising on the development and review of products and solutions to ensure compliance with privacy laws, as well as negotiating commercial contracts with significant privacy implications.
Additionally, the role includes conducting privacy impact assessments, drafting privacy notices, and collaborating with various departments on privacy-related matters.
Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should hold a J.D.
degree from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of a US state bar.
A minimum of 5 years' of experience as a privacy/data protection lawyer, with a primary focus on privacy, is required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global data protection laws, particularly US state and federal laws, and possess excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and a practical, business-driven approach.
Experience in internet technologies, market research, digital marketing, or ad tech industries is preferred, as is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) accreditation.
The role demands a hands-on, proactive individual with the ability to work effectively with legal, business, product, and engineering teams to achieve privacy compliance and business goals.
