OverviewGovCIO is hiring for a Senior Customer Support Professional (IT Specialist) with an active Secret clearance to provide outstanding desk-side support, regularly scheduled backups, network storage allocation, and preventative maintenance.
This position will be located in San Francisco, CA and will be a fully onsite position.
ResponsibilitiesEstablish and maintain smooth operation of computer systems (including operating systems, software, and hardware) in networked or stand-alone configurations.Maintain system integrity and upgrade systems and/or servers as required.Create and document new methods supporting network/system operations and implement changes to procedures.Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff in the resolution of problems.Coordinate and perform operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers.Identify recurring problems and recommend steps to reduce the severity or frequency of issues.Plan for the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies.Utilize system software to monitor the performance of system files and manage system data to maintain performance efficiencies.Study system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures.Support Microsoft Windows environments, repair/replace system peripherals, and maintain configuration management data and documentation.Install software patches, updates, and upgrades, including remote server and workstation administration.Maintain operability of the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and troubleshoot and resolve communications equipment issues.Facilitate resolution of network hardware and software problems and monitor network traffic to optimize performance.Maintain remote user assistance capabilities, Internet connectivity for standalone workstations, and provide technical assistance for relocations and moves.Create, update, and track service call requests, and stage and take down end-user workstations and associated equipment.QualificationsHigh School diploma with 0 - 3 years of IT customer support experience (or commensurate experience).Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and keep DEA suitability.Company OverviewGovCIO is a team of transformers—people who are passionate about transforming government IT.
