Elevate your career in cybersecurity as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, contributing to the forefront of defense initiatives with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Join our dynamic team engaged in the modernization of the Joint Force Headquarters - Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ DoDIN) security model through the adoption of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). In this senior role, you will lead and guide the implementation of advanced security technologies, ensuring the highest level of protection for critical mission systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership in the capacity Zero Trust Cybersecurity to execute comprehensive cybersecurity strategies aligned with ZTA principles.
Oversee and implement robust security controls, ensuring compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), DISA Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards.
Lead collaborative efforts with internal/external organizations, contributing to requirements and technical analysis to enhance ZTA implementation.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring the timely and within-scope delivery of data calls, aligned with DISA ZTA Strategy.
Conduct advanced technical evaluations, coordinate complex relationships with third parties/vendors, and contribute to high-level ZTA project documentation.
Provide expert technical support across all control layers, with a focus on Program Management, Lab Development and Sustainment, and Software Development and Sustainment.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Extensive expertise in cybersecurity principles, practices, and ZTA solutions.
Proven experience in managing and implementing security controls, and in-depth knowledge of DISA STIGs, IAVA processes, and RMF standards.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead technical meetings, conduct advanced technical evaluations, and manage detailed project plans.
Mastery of security architecture, risk management, and compliance.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Extensive expertise in cybersecurity principles, practices, and ZTA solutions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are advantageous.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity, with a significant focus on ISSO responsibilities.
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or other relevant certifications are essential.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation and management of ZTA or similar advanced security architectures.
