Senior Data Engineer (Senior Software Engineer II) Rockerbox empowers marketing executives to confidently make data-driven decisions, helping brands such as Tula, Figs, and Burton with the strategic decision-making that drives growth. Atop this foundation, the platform enables marketers to choose from a range of measurement methodologies, giving customers the flexibility to choose the most appropriate approach for their specific needs and questions.
Rockerbox's Integrations team is primarily responsible for mission-critical data pipelines that ingest our customers' marketing data from 3rd Party APIs. Additionally, the Integrations team owns systems that deliver value directly to customers through data collection, validation, aggregation, and delivery.
Successful candidates will bring expertise in the AWS environment (Redshift) and Kubernetes (K8s) as well as deep Python expertise. Beyond technical acumen, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about contributing to a team-focused, dynamic environment, eager to influence our product's evolution as we expand our reach to thousands of customers.
Responsibilities: Scope and own projects related to building scalable, resilient, well-monitored, and cost-efficient data ingests and pipelinesShare knowledge with other engineers through design and code reviewsMaintain and improve the application of effective patterns in the engineering codebaseAs a tech lead, work with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to design solutions meeting business requirements, detailed in clear technical specificationsIdentify and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and trends to improve efficiency and effectiveness in engineering processes.Requirements: 7+ years of experience as a data engineer and extensive experience working with AWS servicesPrior experience working in RedshiftPrior experience working with Kubernetes (K8s)Experience with ingesting data from third party APIs is preferredExperience with modern orchestration tools (eg: Airflow) is preferredFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (eg: Terraform) is preferredSome experience mentoring engineers; desire to apply expertise to mentorship situations, especially on data warehousing, pipelines, and related technology architecturesAbility to simplify complex topics in both written and verbal communicationTechnical project leadership experience and the communication skills to bring stakeholders together around a project plan and architecture, demonstrated by successful large-scale projects spanning multiple teamsProduct mindset to embrace business needs and produce scalable data/engineering solutionsWhy you'd love us: If you are looking for an opportunity to make an impact within a growing, low-ego tech startup that alleviates a significant client pain point, Rockerbox is the place for you.
