We are looking to onboard a Senior data platform architect as part of Aristocrat's Enterprise Data & Insights team that will lead the architecture, administration and cost management of our Enterprise data platform. This role is a combination of technical leadership, hands-on technical expertise and the ability to demonstrate strong technical partnerships with other COEs in the company. The data platform architect will help define the overall cloud data platform strategy, modernization efforts and will drive scalability, maintainability, cost management & monitoring initiatives. This role will report to the VP of Data Engineering within the Enterprise data & insights group. *What You'll Do*
Primarily responsible for the design, development, administration, and maintenance of the enterprise data platform (EDP), focusing on the cloud technology that underpins the data architecture.Strictly maintain access management, to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of our data across all initiatives.Build procedures and utilities to track performance and cost for all data engineering infrastructure, perform data platform administration, and enforce cost management best practices.Implement infrastructure as code to optimize & automate infrastructure maintenance tasks and code promotionsInvestigate and incorporate modern data services and technologies to boost the functionality and efficiency of our data platform, in line with our strategic objectives.Review and suggest enhancements to our data solutions with a focus on cost efficiency and ease of use, making our data platform scalable, accessible and beneficial to a wide range of user groups.Lead the definition of Data engineering frameworks (e.g., data validation framework, CI/CD framework, access management framework, data retention framework) making our data platform accessible and beneficial to wide range of user groups.Work with the Enterprise Data Architect to help build a next generation data architecture that is resilient to change, maintainable, and scalableSupport data governance initiatives for data quality, integrity, and meta-data management to ensure a common understanding enterprise data, and to ensure the accuracy, validity, and reusability of data.Work with the Director of Data Engineering to build frame works to promote data engineering consistency and efficiency for both real time and batch processesWhat We're Looking For*Bachelor's degree in computer science or mathematics or equivalent experience.10+ years' experience in Data Platform architecture and Engineering areas.10+ years' experience working in and with data lakes, data warehouses, streaming platforms, and cloud platforms.Experience in implementing and administering a cloud platform such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (preferred) or similar with in-depth knowledge of storage approaches, security, data management and cloud servicesExperience implementing and administering a modern cloud data platform using Snowflake (preferred) or similar cloud data warehouse with in-depth knowledge of security, cost management, performance management, scalability, storage objects, security and data processingExperience analyzing, designing and implementing resilient, scalable data platforms with large data volumesExperience in streamlining data management, enhancing data quality, and accelerating the delivery of data-driven insights through data engineering approaches including source code management, agile development, modular code, and design for scalabilityExperience in dataOps best practices including CI/CD, monitoring and control, compliance, audit balance control frameworks, automation, etc.Knowledge of data science and AIKnowledge of data governanceExperience in PythonExperience in modular transformation tools such as dbtExperience with one or more relational databases (e.g., SQLServer, Oracle*At this time, we do not offer visa sponsorship for employment.
