At Nexxen, we've built a strong Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) solution and data licensing business, leveraged by agencies, measurement partners, and advertisers to plan, execute, and optimize Linear TV and Connected TV (CTV/OTT) campaigns. Through exclusive partnerships with Hisense TV and VIDAA, a leading TV operating system, we are scaling our ACR technology globally. As a Senior Data Scientist at Nexxen, you'll be at the forefront of this evolution. You will lead efforts to deliver high-quality viewership data, enabling advertisers to optimize campaigns across both Linear TV and OTT. You'll design and enhance a smart TV data collection and reporting system that powers some of the most cutting-edge advertising technologies today. Responsibilities: Lead design efforts to maintain and advance Nexxen's existing Smart TV ACR data collection, quality assurance, and reporting infrastructure.Analyze and propose new methodologies to ensure accurate identification and classification of media content.Develop real-time (near real-time) solutions to monitor various system performance metrics to ensure data quality.Collaborate with Engineering, Product, as well as other Data Science teams to understand product requirements and create optimal strategies/scalable architectures which can support future potential enhancements.Ensure high standards of data quality by implementing rigorous testing and validation processes for various data sets.Research and develop new methodologies to continuously improve the quality and usability of the Smart TV viewership data.Interact with the leadership team to influence product direction.Recruit and train junior data scientists.Provide constant feedback to employees, conduct performance evaluations, and design employees' growth plans.Integrate existing Nexxen technology with the technology of newly acquired companies.Write and publish research papers on Nexxen's behalf.Write patents on Nexxen's behalf.Advise upper management on the validity and value of potential data acquisition contracts and partnerships, and ensure that said partnerships are providing data of adequate quality, and alert upper management in cases where such contracts do not merit renewal.Interact with external clients as a representative for the Data Science team.Help Nexxen's analysts understand the best ways to utilize the products based on their capabilities and strengths relative to our competitors.Identify new opportunities for advanced analytics and machine learning and conceptualize/develop projects to support their advancement.Required Qualifications: PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5 years of related work experience, Master's degree with 6 years of related work experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related work experience.Familiarity with ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) techniques and their applications in media is a plus.Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.Understanding of the TV and media landscape, including viewership trends, audience measurement methodologies, and advertising metrics. Familiarity with markets like the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany is a plus.Ability to conduct independent research and apply innovative solutions to complex data challenges.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex data findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience with data visualization for presenting insights to various stakeholders.Development experience in the following programming languages: Python, Scala, SQL.Experience working with Redis, MongoDB, ElasticCache, Spark, MapReduce, Vertica.Knowledge of machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras, Pandas.In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role in New York is $160,000 - $185,000 at the time of posting, with the potential of an incentive or bonus. While this is our reasonable expectation, this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
