Struction Solutions, LLC is searching for a Senior Design Manager for A/E (Architectural & Engineering) Services to play a critical role in overseeing the design aspects of various construction and renovation projects, particularly those related to seismic, critical repair, and retrofit projects. This position is crucial for ensuring that the design and planning aspects of construction projects meet high standards. The candidate must have extensive experience in managing large-scale design projects, particularly within educational facilities or public agencies, and possess strong leadership and communication skills to guide the design team effectively.
Responsibilities:Manage multiple projects with an emphasis on seismic, critical repair, and retrofit projects.Supervise a team of design professionals through the design review process.Develop and coordinate the design process to ensure that plans meet functional, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.Oversee engineering repair and critical repair projects, working with architects, consultants, and personnel to ensure timely completion.Ensure compliance with standards and guidelines by working with design professionals and administrators.Identify and select architectural firms based on qualifications and performance standards.Provide architects with clear direction on goals, standards, sites, schedules, and budgets.Establish an effective design review process to meet project goals and objectives.Ensure maximum value for budgeted dollars, meeting functional needs of the community and environment.Review design changes to ensure projects remain within budget.Monitor project planning and design status, providing reports and recommendations.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Experience:A minimum of 14 years of full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or the planning and coordination of capital projects.This experience should include overall design management, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities.At least 4 years of this experience must be in the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agency projects.Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.Required Education:Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.Preferred Education:A master's degree in Architecture or Engineering.Preferred License & Certification:A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or as a Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is preferred.Job Type:Full-time
