Your role as a Senior Design Engineer will allow you to serve staff and leaders and help provide creative solutions to drive CPC's short- and long-term goals.

This role offers plenty of opportunities to grow your skills and expand your knowledge!The Senior Design Engineer will be an integral member of the Design Engineering team in support of the Bio Business Unit.
Primary responsibilities include conceptualization, engineering design, analysis and specification of new products, platforms, and technologies.
The Senior Design Engineer should embody a logical, creative, and curious approach to product design, paired with a passion for innovation and problem solving.
Essential Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop products from conceptualization to launchCollaborates and consults with Test, Tooling, Manufacturing and Quality Engineers in support of new product developmentInteracts with customers and suppliers as needed to assess new technology needsPartner with Product management and Sales to create solutions for a growing Biopharmaceutical marketLeads or assists in efforts to resolve product performance issuesAdheres to all safety regulationsDemonstrates support of CPC core valuesPerforms other job duties as required to meet business needs.
Required Job QualificationsBachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, or another related field.7+ years of design and product development experienceCurious, creative, and tenacious problem solverDesired character attributes:Drive – The unrelenting need for achievement and constant self-improvementResiliency – the ability to persevere in the face of challenge and bounce back from setbacksCuriosity – a desire to explore the unknown and question the status quo in pursuit of better, more effective solutionsCollaborative – the ability to function as part of a cross-functional team, placing the success of the whole above the needs of the selfStrong verbal and written communications skills required; must be able to communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and customersAbility to work independently, and to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyCAD proficiency – PTC Creo, Solidworks, etcKnowledge and grasp of rapid prototyping techniques and manufacturing methodsStrong mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated history of design innovationEnergetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook5+ years' experience in design of mass-produced products such as automotive, appliances, toys, etc.Competent in the design and development of plastic components.
Preferred Job QualificationsDesign experience with fluid handling components for industrial applications.Familiarity with ISO 13485, medical device, or medical device componentsFamiliarity with RFID, electromechanical devicesFamiliarity with Biopharmaceutical processing equipment and/or processesWorking knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)Injection molding understanding or experienceBasic understanding of Finite Element AnalysisExperience developing new products utilizing a stage gate process from idea and opportunity qualification to launch and sustaining.
Travel      Up to 5%, international and domestic Physical DemandsThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
