Experience & Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
5 years finance experience.
CPA license is a plus but not required.
Background and general knowledge of accounting principles.
Essential Job Functions: Preparation of various internal financial statements and external regulatory reports.
Assist with external audits and controls.
Prepare and or review general ledger accounts.
Assist in the preparation of the budget and forecasts.
Prepare and process month end accruals.
Assist in the preparation of the allowance for credit loss (CECL) Assists the Controller and CFO in the direction of the accounting functions of the organization.
Manages operational data and maintains data accuracy and integrity.
Reviews financial data periodically to ensure fairness and completeness of the data.
Develops proper operational, data documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
Evaluates workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies.
Required knowledge, skills & abilities: Superior knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and accounting activities.
Excellent organizational, communication and financial management skills and the ability to prioritize.
Strong numerical proficiency, good problem solving skills and excellent use of logic.
Ability to motivate, develop and manage a team and establish goals for the department.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with the senior management team.
Ability to articulate financial concepts and requirements to non-financial audiences.
Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications is required.
Experience with accounting software (i.e.
Oracle, Prologue, automate Accounts Payable) is preferred.
Understanding of internal controls with FDICIA experience preferred but not required.
Understanding of and experience with the Call Report preferred but not required.
Compliance with BSA regulations as appropriate to the position.
Physical Demands and work Environment: Ability to use standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
May require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
