Downtown Streets Team (DST) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting homelessness through the power of work and dignity of community. DST increases social capital and economic mobility by helping our unhoused neighbors chart a way out of homelessness through community building, volunteering opportunities, employment and human-centered case management. Since 2005, DST has expanded across 16 cities in Northern and Central California, serving over 1,500 people annually.
SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Bay Area & Central Coast is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the delivery and overall success of implementing DST's flagship and community services program across an entire region (Bay Area & Central Coast). Responsible for program success across eight cities, this position requires a strategic systems thinker with strong leadership and organizational skills, and a keen ability to build and fortify community partnerships that drive program growth and ensure program excellence.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Leadership: Steer regional program delivery, ensuring success and effectiveness.Drive strategic decision-making as a key member of the senior management team.Partner with fellow senior directors to design and implement results-oriented program strategies.Foster strong city, county, and community partnerships for sustainable and impactful delivery.Manage grants, contracts, and processes across the region to ensure compliance and sound fiscal management.Team Management: Manage and motivate a reporting line of 3 direct reports, 25+ staff, and 40+ participant employees.Develop a high-performing team of 3 community program directors.Foster a positive and collaborative staff culture across the Bay Area & Central Coast.Fill in during the absence of lead staff as needed.Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and donors.Identify and cultivate new partnerships to expand program reach and impact.Represent the organization at community events and meetings.Secure financial support through fundraising.Represent DST's mission, brand and values internally and externally. Share out best practices and other thought-leadership in industry settings.Programs and Service Delivery Oversee the regions program life cycle from assessment, design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement, ensuring high-quality program delivery.Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.Track program outcomes and meet contract, grant, and resource deliverables.Stay up to date on best practices in the field and identify emerging trends to inform program development; advance program practices that embraces DEIB and seeks to disrupt inequities.WHAT YOU'LL NEED:Education and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in in a relevant field (public administration, social work, non-profit management, etc.).
